Music Ministry

Music at Noel is an integral part of the worship experience. With vocal choirs, handbell choirs and a contemporary praise band, Noel’s music opportunities encompass all age groups, talents and musical preferences. In addition to the work of our choir director, Noel has many volunteers who help make this vital ministry successful. Here are some ways you can get involved.

Children's Choir

Pathfinders
Made up of children from age 4 through the 5th grade, Pathfinders offers both handbell and choral music. The children sing in worship several times each year and perform for other events as well.

Youth Choir
For youth in the 6th-12th grades, the Youth Choir has various choral responsibilities during the school year. The summer finds them on tour to various parts of the country for about a week and they present this tour production at an annual Homecoming Concert each June.

Chancel Choir
Our 45-voice adult choir sings all year at the traditional Sunday worship service and presents two major choral works annually. From time to time, they perform with the Shreveport Symphony in works for choir and orchestra.

Sometime Singers
This adult choir boasts about 20 singers who perform at various church-wide fellowship events and and occasional morning and evening worship services.

Contemporary Worship
Established in 2002, the Shekinah Praise Band offers contemporary music for the N.O.W. worship service. Comprised of guitars, drums, keyboard, voices and more, the praise band contributes to Noel’s high quality music.

Handbells
Noel boasts a five-octave set of Schulmerich handbells. There are two adult, one youth and one children’s handbell choirs which meet weekly during the school year to present music during worship. They can also be heard at nursing homes, hospitals and retirement communities in the area. All the handbell choirs perform for the annual Spring Ring each May, a highlight for Noel’s congregation and guests.

Noel's Masterworks Concert Series
The Noel Masterworks Concert Series presents three or four concerts a year that feature diverse music, ranging from choral classics to opera to Broadway. Sponsored by Mrs. Billie Haacker and the late Dr. Robert Haacker, this series strives to bring excellent music to the community.
